Our Mission

The overall mission of the PTA is to provide a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families, and be a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.  At Bush Hill, we support this mission through our many programs, our communication efforts, and our money that is spent right in our school. We can always use one more hour of one more person's time.  We can always use new ideas.  Whatever your situation, we can find a way to incorporate you into our community.

Most importantly, we are here to support you and your family. We look forward to hearing your ideas, meeting you and your children, and being a part of the great tradition of including all learners at Bush Hill.

What is a PTA?

The main role of a local PTA is to build strong working relationships among parents, teachers and schools, in support of students. This can include recruiting and coordinating volunteers, organizing and support school and community events, organizing parent education events, planning teacher appreciation activities, after school programs, and much more. Bush Hill Elementary PTA is a non-profit organization that works under the by-laws and guidance of the Virginia PTA and National PTA organizations.  We have played a critical role in fundraising to support our school needs including teacher grants, school events, and much more.  We rely on volunteer power - our community can support the PTA in many different ways so please join and help us create a safe and welcoming learning environment for our future generation!

Parent Volunteers

Volunteers are essential to the success of Fairfax County Public Schools. Many enriching and worthwhile experiences are afforded to our children through the volunteer help from parents. Every day, volunteers change the lives of students across FCPS and we offer several ways for people in the community to get involved. Parents can demonstrate involvement at home-by reading with their children, helping with schoolwork, network with families, maintain communication with school, and discussing school events-or at school, by attending functions or volunteering in classrooms.
